Summary:
ATOQ comes from the words Advanced Training on Quality. It is one of most loved trainings for group leaders in youth exchanges. It gives an opportunity to evaluate and lean more. Satisfaction is guaranteed.
Target group: Youth workers, Youth leaders, Project managers.
For participants from: Youth in Action Programme Countries.
Group size: 30 participants
Details:
ATOQ brings together experienced youth workers who have been active in at least one youth exchange prior to the training. ATOQ presents an opportunity to share practices, understand youth exchanges better and learn practical tools for youth exchanges.
The objectives of the training are:
• Critically reflect upon participants’ previous international youth exchange experience(s) and the impact on young people;
• Increase the understanding of different quality aspects of youth exchanges with the Youth in Action Programme;
• Experience a non-formal learning process and understand its importance in youth exchanges;
• Improve participants’ project management competences in order to better organise the different phases of a youth exchange.
Methodologically ATOQ uses a lot of group work, theoretical inputs, practical exercises, reflection and debriefing.
Content-wise there are:
• Workshops on different quality aspect such as: active participation of young people, involvement of promoters and stakeholders, diversity and intercultural learning, European dimension and citizenship;
• Activities to facilitate non-formal learning process, support participants in their reflection on learning and foster group dynamics;
• Group work methods to support the reflection on previous youth exchange experiences.
Participants must have an experience on organising and carrying out a Youth in Action youth exchange. Own experiences are important aspect of the training and without them it is impossible to participate. You have worked as a project leader, group leader, or an active member of the project. You have experience in planning and implementing the project.
Costs:
This project is financed by the Youth in Action Programme. Being selected for this course, all costs (accommodation, travel, visa, etc.) relevant to participation in the course will be covered by the NAs or SALTO involved in this project - except a participation fee which varies from call to call and country to country. Please contact your NA to learn more about the financial details, and how to arrange the booking of your travel tickets and the reimbursement of your travel expenses. If you come from a country other than Programme Countries, please contact the host NA for further information about the financial details.
