Summary of Training Proposal
Power to You(th) provides youth workers with creative, adaptable tools and inspiration to facilitate youth empowerment and to promote active participation of young people, in particular young people with fewer opportunities. It will explore the tool of Youth Exchanges as part of the Youth in Action programme to inspire and empower young people to actively participate in society. Using non-formal education methods and activities (such as outdoor work, experiential learning, theatre and community interaction), “Power to You(th)” aims at implementing an inspiring, active and creative space for the development of new ideas and exploring possibilities for youth empowerment. The training course gives participants the possibility to discover meaningful roles and develop different tools in their work around youth projects. Our overall hope is that this training course will bring confidence and inspiration to youth workers to create powerful activities and projects with and for young people.
Objectives:
• To explore the meaning, relevance and potential of empowerment in youth work;
• To discover the value of Youth Exchanges as a tool for youth empowerment;
• To experience inspirational tools and methods which can be transferred to working reality;
• To exchange experiences in an international environment.
Target Group:
Youth Workers working with young people with fewer opportunities, that have some previous youth exchange experience It would be important that selected participants are Youth workers who are currently working directly with young people on a regular basis.
Costs:
• Board and lodging will be provided by the Portuguese National Agency.
• Travel costs can be covered by your National Agency according to their own rules (Please check before applying!).
• Any insurance, especially medical, is a private responsibility of each participant.
Working language: English.
