Summary:
This training activity will explore inclusive outdoor approaches to be used in youth work activities with young people with fewer opportunities. Youth workers and social workers are requested to apply in a tandem with one young person they work with!
Target group: Youth workers, Social workers, young people.
For participants from: Youth in Action Programme Countries.
Group size: 30 participants
Details:
Objectives of the training course:

• To create a cooperative learning experience for youth workers, social workers and the young people they work with;
• To explore concepts and approaches of “social inclusion”;
• To share, develop and try out outdoor activities as a tool for social inclusion;
• To find out about the opportunities provided by “Youth in Action” program.
Target group:
• Social workers* or youth workers (anyone working with young people) in a tandem with one young person he/she is working with and that would like to be a part of possible future international youth or inclusion projects.
• Previous experience in Youth in Action programme is not required but there should be an interest in it.
• At least one of the tandem has to be able to communicate in English and support the other participant if needed.
• Social worker / youth worker should be 18 years old or older (no upper age limit). The age limit for the young person is from 16 to 25 years old. The youth or social worker is responsible for the young person (if under age).
In order to apply, the tandem (social worker/youth worker + young person) has to submit a common application form. Just click the “apply” button! We encourage candidates with special needs to apply. The organiser will take care of these needs (for example personal assistant, sign language, accessible rooms & transport, etc). *Any professional or volunteer who works with people and helps them manage their daily lives, access social services (health care, government assistance, legal aid) and coach them in critical life situations. So the target group of this activity might be for example a young person (client) in residential care + a professional working with that person.
Costs:
This project is financed by the Youth in Action Programme. Being selected for this course, all costs (accommodation, travel, visa, etc.) relevant to participation in the course will be covered by the NAs involved in this project - except a participation fee which varies from call to call and country to country. Please contact your NA to learn more about the financial details, and how to arrange the booking of your travel tickets and the reimbursement of your travel expenses.
