Summary:
Children of the future is a training course designed for those people who work or willing to work with young people with disabilities and want to learn more about occupational therapy as a measure of inclusion.
Target group:
Youth workers, Youth leaders, Teachers, Volunteers, Social Workers.
For participants from:
Croatia, Cyprus, Estonia, Finland, Italy, Lithuania, Norway, Turkey.
Group size: 23 Participants
Details:
Project "Children of the Future" is 7 days training course based on non-formal and informal learning. The main theme of the project focuses on measures that might be used in order to diminish the exclusion of young people with disabilities/disorders. The learning methods of training course are based on experiential learning. Planned activities include learning via different types of therapies: art, drama, video, music, game etc. therapies. The main aim of the project is: to provide occupational therapy as a tool that will be used in work with young people who have mental/intelligent/physical/learning etc. disorders.
The main objectives to achieve the goal:
• to acquaint with the theory of occupational therapy;
• to provide working methods/techniques of occupational therapy (will be specified in methodology);
• to provide assessment techniques.
Indirect objectives:
• to provide the sense of European citizenship;
• to provide the sense cultural awareness in order to prevent from cultural and social discrimination.
Costs:
Accommodation and lodging is covered by Youth in Action programme. Food and lodging will be fully covered; as well 70% of travel expenses will be reimbursed by Youth in Action Programme (cheapest means of travel). Visa costs will be covered 100%.
