The idea is to gather educational practitioners in youth work from all over Europe, with many fold different fields of excellence, expertise and passion, and to provide them with an opportunity to meet with colleagues. This in order to share practices and tools, discuss hot issues and difficult cases, experiment, research, reflect, coach, learn, support, inspire, motivate, improve and innovate. A place to step out for a moment from the daily business of our educational work, take a deep breath and look at everything from a helicopter perspective. A place to relax and gain energy, but also to face thoughts and discussions we ususally avoid as we are busy with our daily job. A place for innovation and inspiration, deepening, experimentation and peer support.

• New competences in educational techniques, tools and practices;
• higher quality, diversity and impact in your educational work;
• new understanding and perspectives of educational issues and concerns;
• motivation and inspiration;
• benchmarking and carreer orientation;

• self-assessment and development/action plan for the future;
• co-operation, partnerships and follow-up activities on local and European level.
What and how will it happen?
The approach and spirit of this meeting is that educational practitioners with lots to share and discuss are provided with support, space and time to further pursue and deepen their fields of excellence, expertise and passion, and to make the best out of the meeting in interaction with the other participants. It is NOT a classic training course! It is a meeting of inspiring people who will make the best of their time in a group effort. It is like a playground for experts and curious minds in the field of education and youth work. The meeting is 100% based on the idea of collective contributions and collective learning. Participants will be in charge of proposing and facilitating workshops for the group. In other words, the responsibility for the active programme, outcomes and learning points of this meeting is on side of the participants. It is a great opportunity, but it requires an active, responsible, assertive and collective approach from the participants.
Crossing borders (CB) will take care of providing relaxing, safe and inspiring frameconditions. We will be located at the quiet and idyllic Danish countryside, in a place suitable for reflection, concentration and focussing. We will have all materials, space and infrastructure at our disposition for creative and committed work and workshops, be it inside our outside. CB will also take care of providing facilitation of the rough framestructure of our meeting. In other words, CB take care of providing the frame, but the content is up to the participants.
Here are some of the tools and methods that we will use during the meeting:
getting to know each other and group-building, mutual workshops, experiential learning and mastering of positive challenges, exchange and documentation of good practices, storytelling, showcasing and presentations, open space and free space, intercolleagueal case supervision, experimentation and exploration, dramatic and artistic expression, consulting, coaching and peer-learning, feedback at all levels, discussion and discourse, research, self-reflection and self-assessment, elaboration of future development plans, open market for follow-up activities. Furthermore, web 2.0 tools will be used before, during and after the meeting to enhance and support the cooperation and multiply and disseminate the outcomes.
