Summary:
This is an international East-West Training Course which is going to take place in the city of Stara Zagora in Bulgaria. The program will gather international group of 30 participants who will learn more about EU Citizenship and youth work.
Target group: Youth workers, Trainers, Youth leaders, Project managers.
For participants from: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Italy, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Russian Federation, Turkey, Ukraine.

Aim:

The main aim of this East-West training course is to promote and foster European Citizenship, employability, volunteering and active participation in society through building up competences for creating sustainable social initiatives and youth entrepreneurship.
Objectives:
1.
To develop a common understanding about the concept of European Citizenship and to explore instruments for its promotion especially in terms of strengthening social cohesion and mutual understanding;
In particular, this TC will contribute:
• to improve participant’s civic competences and to improve their ability to be able to participate in society and voice their concerns, ensuring their rights and the rights of others;
• to be informed about the Mobility possibilities offered by the EU and about the chance to work in Europe.
2. To explore how youth work can raise the employability and foster entrepreneurship among the young people especially through volunteering and active participation in civil society;
• The participants will get to know about self-employment and entrepreneurship through the development of their sense of initiative;
• To raise awareness of the potentials of youth entrepreneurship as a tool for self-employment and contributor to social inclusion and cohesion;
• To provoke a positive impact on the local communities regarding problems of youth unemployment and how they could be solved through youth work;
• To gain competences how to use youth work as an advantage on the labour market;
3. To empower youngsters, especially those with fewer opportunities to act as multipliers in the fields of European Citizenship and youth participation in their local communities;
4. To identify and exchange good practices in East – West context of Youth work;
5. Preparation of future action plan for further development, as well as building new partnerships for follow up YIA projects.
Working methodology:
The program activities will be based on non formal education, learning-by-doing methods and intercultural dialogue and communication. The training course will stimulate creativity, active participation, and sense of initiative and involvement of the young people in society. For the achievement of the learning objectives a variety of interactive working methods such as workshops, role-plays, outdoor activities and plenary discussions will be used, according to the specific learning needs of the participants and their organizations, in order to cover all aspects of the project themes.
Profile of Participants:
Participants to the training course should meet the following criteria:
• BE actively involved in your organisation;
• BE able to attend for the full duration of the event;
• BE able to fully communicate in English;
• BE willing to multiply and follow-up on the outcomes of this training course in your organisation via active youth work.
Costs:
Financial Conditions and arrangements

The training course is scheduled to take place in September 2013, in Bulgaria. The project is financially supported by The Bulgarian NA for the Youth in Action program – Action 3.1.2 . The organizers offer the following conditions:
• Travel expenses
Travel expenses and visa costs (on presentation of the relevant receipts) are reimbursed according to the rules of the Youth in Action Program. The travel costs are covered with 70%, and 100 % of visa fees. Only participants who have attended the entire training course can be reimbursed. The reimbursement will be made either by bank transfer after the course or directly on the spot.
• Accommodation
Board, lodging, local transports are provided by the organizers.
• Participation fee
A participation fee of 40€ is payable by each participant. This amount will be paid in Euros to the organizers during the course.
