Summary:
This event is supported by Action 5.1 of the Youth in Action Programme and it is set in the framework of the Structured Dialogue within the EU Youth Strategy 2010-2018.
Target group:
Youth leaders, Youth Policy Makers, Young people with fewer opportunities, youth researchers between 18 and 30 year old. Participants over 30 years old, you are very welcome to take part but unfortunately we are not able to cover your expenses.
For participants from:
Belgium - FL, Estonia, Hungary, Lithuania, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Spain, Turkey, United Kingdom.
Group size: 50 participants

In order to reflect together on how we can do better B*COME is organizing the “Enlarge your Impact” youth conference. This event is supported by action 5.1 of the Youth in Action programme and it is set in the framework of the Structured Dialogue. It will bring together 50 young people, youth workers, researches, trainers and youth policy makers to contribute with the creation of concrete outcomes and recommendations on how to enlarge the active participation of young people with fewer opportunities in youth policy on local national and international level. Young people should have a say on decisions that impact their lives at local, national and European level. Despite all good intentions and a growing attention to young people in policy making it has still been proven difficult to motivate and involve young people from all backgrounds in this process. In order to reflect together on how we can do better B*COME is organizing the “Enlarge your Impact” youth conference. This event will bring together 50 young people, youth workers, researches, trainers and youth policy makers to contribute with the creation of concrete outcomes and recommendations on how to enlarge the active participation of young people with fewer opportunities in youth policy on local national and international level.
Aim:
The conference wants to encourage participation of all young people in making decisions that affect their lives.
Objectives:
• Involve young people in discussing and exploring ways to participate in youth policy.
• Make recommendations and guidelines for different actors in youth policy on how to include all young people in decisions that affect them.
• Mobilize young people, youth work, youth research and youth policy to cooperate in order to increase the interest of all young people in youth policy.
• Create a shared view on why youth organizations working with vulnerable youth should be involved in giving young people a voice on local, national and European level.
• Reflect on the involvement of youth work in ensuring inclusion and active participation on local, national and European level.
• Transfer information on the new Youth Programme for the period 2014–2020.
Venue:
The conference will take place in Brussels. This vibrant and cosmopolitan city has almost 70% people of a foreign origin and also hosts a lot of international institutions like the European Commission, the European Parliament and NATO. Besides this there is a lot of culture, nice architecture and of course a lot of great food! This makes it the ideal location for our meeting.
Dates & times
The delegates will arrive on the 12th of October in the afternoon or in the evening. On the 13th of October they will take part in a preparation day together with the facilitators. Other policy makers and youth researcher will arrive on the 14th of October. After 2,5 days of intense work, the conference will end on the 16th of October at lunch time. Participants will travel back home in the afternoon
Preparation
Before the conference will contact you again with the preparation pack for the participants. It is crucial that you go through this with your selected participants in order to prepare them in optimal conditions for the conference.
