The training course will train a group of 20 youth workers and young photographers (coming from Italy, Greece, France, Netherland and Spain) about practical skills and competences related to the realization of photo workshops with disadvantaged youth.

The training course will train a group of 20 youth workers and young photographers (coming from Italy, Greece, France, Netherland and Spain) about practical skills and competences related to the realization of photo workshops with disadvantaged youth. The idea to realize the training course "Focus on youth: how to promote social inclusion through photography” came after the realization of the project "Imagine Vucciria" that involved a group of youngsters from a disadvantaged district in the centre of Palermo. The trainers, three photographers experienced in social photography (two from Italy and one from Netherland), and one educator expert in non formal education, will lead a programme full of educational activities and practical exercizes.
The training will be focused on the following aspects:
• the role of the coach in youth projects;
• photo workshops oriented to self-expression: methods and techniques;
• risk management and prevention working with disadvantaged youth;
• the dissemination of results: organization of a final exhibition and creation of a photobook.
The training will be realized in Sicily (Palermo), from 11th to 18th September 2013 with a group of participants coming from 5 youth organisations located in Italy, France, Greece, Netherland and Spain.
Costs:
• 30% of travel costs;
• 70% of travel costs, accomodation and food will be covered by the Youth in Action Programme.
