Details:
With this TC, we aim at the capacity building of 10 different youth organisations to effectively work towards an active participation of minority youth in the society, and a mutual dialogue, understanding, and respect, between minority youth and their "hosting societies". The course will last for 7 days, and it will involve 30 youth workers, three for each partner organisation, coming both from EU and South Eastern Europe, as we believe that this topic is extremely relevant for both regions and it includes a lot of interactions between them. The participants will have therefore the opportunity not only to acquire effective tools for their work with youngsters from minority background, but also to share experiences, best practices, obstacles, and ideas on how to promote and improve the social inclusion of youth coming from different kinds of minorities, underlining the points in common and differences that exist in the different contexts. During the course, we will deal with topics such as the concept of minority itself, the institutions dealing with them and their policies and programmes, and the work of youth organisations in the field. We will talk about different kinds of minorities, and we'll provide useful tools for the participants and their youth NGOs to provide opportunities for participation for youngsters coming from these different backgrounds, and spaces of interaction between minorities and majorities. The main methodology used in the course to achieve these goals will be nonformal education, with methods that will include discussions, brainstorming, presentations, experts inputs, roleplays, simulations, and in general activities stimulating active participation and creativity.
