The aims of the conference are:

• To develop peer learning as a Europe-wide practice in youth work and youth policy;
• To develop the idea of a European Network of Local Government Youth Work and Policy to promote individual and organizational learning across Europe and to advocate youth work and policy in Europe.
Why peer learning and networking?
Peer learning is a process of accumulation of knowledge and competence through a networked form of learning - youth work and youth policy practitioners across Europe learning from each other. It can be used to improve work with different youth concerns (participation, transition to work, social exclusion, etc) and to design better youth policies. The second aim of the Conference is to establish a European Network of Local Government Youth Work and Policy, a network consisting of those responsible for local government youth work and those developing them. The Network is foreseen to have two broad objectives: First, to open and facilitate local youth work into peer learning processes across Europe, to create efficient reporting back mechanisms of the experiences and to feed them in policy development. Second, the Network functions as a European platform of knowledge and competence on youth concerns and aspirations, and local youth work and youth policy. Thus it is a focal point of linking European and National youth policy design with local needs and conditions.
