Youth unemployment levels in Europe are hitting new highs: more than 5.7 million (23.6%) young people in the European Union (EU) were without a job in January 2013. In developing the "JOURN@LISM 2DAY" project, we found 6 non-profit organizations that are able to work, train and spread innovative concept in youth work (Backpack Journalism) on European level. The idea of project is based on long cooperation work between two partners (Petrklíc Help and Socialna Akademija). The project builds on sharing good practices and joint learning and development strategies of Backpack Journalism- the usage of journalism tools for social integration and youth employability. Since it is still relatively new tool in the work of youth organizations this project will be a new experience for all partners, and also all partners were asked to contribute with their experience and knowledge.
What is BACKPACK JOURNALISM?:
The aim of Backpack Journalism is to raise media literacy of young people through their active participation as non-professional journalists.
