Background
The year 2014 is the European Year of Mental Health. Mental health is seen as an integral part of the quality of life and well-being for all people in the EU and a prerequisite for individuals being able to realise their intellectual and emotional potential. For society, it is a source of social cohesion and of better social well-being and economic prosperity. Youth exchanges can be an important tool to promote mental health amongst young people. It provides young people an experience that will give them an opportunity to learn new things. It promotes their active participation and could boost their confidence and discovery of talents and might lead to feelings of inclusion and self-worth. This PBA allows for a constructive exploration of youth exchange as a tool for promoting mental health among young people and for building concrete partnerships and youth exchange projects.
