The training course "De-constructing Normality” is designed for educators, youth workers and youth leaders to develop learning competences aimed at mainstreaming gender in youth work.
Target group:
Youth workers, Trainers, Youth leaders, Project managers, Woking with Young People with fewer oportunities.
For participants from: Armenia, Belarus, Estonia, Georgia, Italy, Lithuania, Spain.
Group size: 22 participants
Details:
The training course "De-constructing Normality” is designed for educators, youth workers and youth leaders to develop learning competences aimed at mainstreaming gender in youth work through Human Rights Education and Non-Formal Education methodologies.
Through the course we will:
• explore how gender roles are constructed and “normality” established for masculinities and femininities in diverse communities around Europe;
• introduce Human Rights Education methodologies and implement approaches and activities that support the role of youth work in this area;
• contribute actively to de-construct sexist attitudes through youth work tools that challenge predetermined gender roles;
• exchange best practices, raise awareness and develop competences in key concepts for mainstreaming gender in youth work;
• develop ideas for incorporating gender perspectives in youth work and at community level, and to introduce and promote the qualitative development of the activities of the new programme for youth in the frames of the Erasmus+ programme.
Costs:
The 70 % of travel expenses are reimbursed. Board and lodging for the duration of the Training Course will be provided and paid for by the Organisers. An enrolment fee is payable by each participant.
